Error installing XPHome on a New 64fx system with SATA HD

I am continuously running into this error while trying to install XP Home Edition(upgrade version, but with a completely new install, isntead of over an OS). I can't seem to narrow it down much, but I think it may have to do with the Serial ATA drive. First I start up the system via the XP cd, and set up my SATA drivers(f6 at the begining, load from floppy with newest drivers from manufacturer). After I set that up, I continue loading the setup, which goes fine until it says Loading Windows or something along those lines. Thats when it will either spit a blue screen at me(which I'll write the exact error down bellow), or drop back into the Setup Windows/Repair Windows/Quit screen except it doesn't recognize the SATA drive. I'm pretty certain I have my drive enabled in the bios, since I've activated it as a bootable device and with no start up disk my computer will attempt to boot from it(I'm not using a PCI card, but the motherboard came equiped with the SATA inputs).

This is the error:

SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

then some stuff about how I should check to make sure new hardware and software is isntalled properly. It also mentions that I may need to install the newest windows updates.

*** STOP: 0x0000006f (0xC0000020, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Here is my system specs

Mobo:ASUS sk8v
Processor: AMD 64FX
Ram: Twin sticks of Corsair 3200 low latency 512(registered and ECC)
Hard Drive: Maxtor Diamond Max 9 SATA HD 120gigs
Video card: ATI(by Hercules) 9700 pro. Its a later version that is completely compatible with my mobo.

So if you have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Also does anyone know if it is possible to install XP SP1 as the very first installation as oppose to installing XP, then upgrading it. That is my next route I hope to try.

Thanks,
Jesse

Aopen AX6BC (Award BIOS R2.59)
Pentium III 800MHz
Creative Labs TNT2 (tried GeForce 2 also)
IBM IDE Drive
