Error Installing AOE and/or Conquerors

Hi,

I had AOE and Conquerors installed on my machine running Win98. I upgraded to WinXP Home and now get an error message upon trying to start the applications. I get as far as the initial "Loading" page and then it comes back with an "encountered a problem and needs to close" screen. The Error signature is listing as AppName: empires2.icd AppVer: 0.14.22.712 ModName: empires2.icd ModVer: 0.14.22.712 Offset: 001fe3c1

Anyone able to help me with this? Thanks.

Hey,

Have you tried copying the contents of the CD on to a folder on your hard
drive?

Make sure you have the latest patches.

launching the game to diagnose problems.
