"The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'POP3.yahoo.com', Server: 'POP3.yahoo.com',

10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Yahoo servers are not pop3 unless you pay extra for Yahoo POP mail. The only
way to connect to Yahoo mail is to use your browser and go to Yahoo.com. If
you do have Yahoo POP mail go to their support site and ask for help there.

Hi...... did you ever get this issue resolved? I have same problem..
Service pack 2 caused it. and talking to India is a fate worse than death...

I'd suggest you ask yahoo about that server address. I get no response on a
tracert.
The error is a common can't connect to the server or cannot find the server
error.

There is nothing running on the system and yahoo is not used... Email use
to work SP2 screwed things up.. I reloaded XP (upgade)... and this is the
only issue that remains...

In that case, please post your OWN error message. You have now appended
to two posts that I can see, but then say you do not use Yahoo. In that
case the problem is NOT the same as the OP.
You may do better posting in a specific OE newsgroup.

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'POP3.jmmresource.com', Server: 'POP3.jmmresource.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Which discussion group do you sugest...

Well, that's a receiving error. POP3 and port 110 are incoming
configurations. If you can't send and are using these settings, then
that is why. SMTP and port 25 are for outgoing. Check with your ISP. Who
is your ISP by the way? http://www.jmmresource.com/ appears to be your
own website. You need to send via the SMTP server of your ISP.

I already suggested which group would be better in the link I sent. Just
click on it and it will add it to Outlook Express automatically. Much
better than reading via the web interface.

stated my problem started with the installation of service pack 2...
