im having these errors when im trying to set up my windows mail

You simply can't use live.com accounts in WM, you need to use W Live Mail.

The only exception is for premium (Hotmail Plus) accounts which do
get POP access, and therefore can be accommodated in Windows Mail.

I had same issue... In your email properties, make sure where it asks for ID you have to add @youremailservername...
