Error Code 1000008E

  • Thread starter Thread starter Guest

Just seems to happen! Have read the microsft help on the HaxDoor virus and
followed their recommended solution, but there are no 'drct16' or 'draw32'
entries where they suggest. Error code is slightly different too - mine is
1000008E, they refer to 0x0000008e. Have run a virus scan but finds nothing.

Another to look at is Hardware compatibility with windows XP, like:
Modems, Video cards, USB devices, Memory you can run a memory test and sound
cards.
As this Error messages can be either Hardwares, Virus But this eliminated
since you done a scan, application corrupted.
Try to run the chkdsk utility from a Recovery console by starting up your
system with the XP CD and select R to start recovert Console there type the
Command:
chkdsk /p /r hit Enter on your keyboard and let it run then type Reboot
to reboot your computer.
Be sure you motherboard drivers up2date and disable Memory cashing or
indexing in the BIOS.
Try to see the verified Hardwares on your system by typing this command:
Run >> type in: verifier click [OK] and click on next then select scan for
Hardwares.

Just seems to happen! Have read the microsft help on the HaxDoor
virus and
followed their recommended solution, but there are no 'drct16' or
'draw32'
entries where they suggest. Error code is slightly different too -
mine is
1000008E, they refer to 0x0000008e. Have run a virus scan but finds
nothing.

Yeah, you got a Hex what a heck, try to scan for viruses on your
computer:

If the abpve didn't help try to provide more info is it happening

Could you look in the Event Viewer for any Error message to
application.
To access the Event Viewer Try this:
Open a Run Command and type in :
eventvwr click [OK] and on there you will see:
Application
System
Security
By click on either and look in the Right Pane/window you will see an
Events
recorded by the OS Double click any Error message it will open an
Information
window about the Error you can copy and paste the error in your next
post.

Edwin is Hinting you may Have a bad RAM and if you have an application didn't
release the Memory on the Time of exiting the program and causing this Error.
You need to see what causing this Error, look for your recent adition of
hardware/Software to the Operating System, did you added a new hardware
recently or Downloaded an Updates that caused this Issue to occur.
P.S do you have External Drives,USB drives installed, Printers, Scanners..etc.
HTH and good luck.

Run >> type in: verifier click [OK] and click on next then select scan for
Hardwares.
Did your System got Hot lately?.
HTH.
