Error - Applicatioon n Hang

I leave my Dell Dememsion 4000, 512 Meg, with XP Pro on 24/7 for
housekeeping and virus scans to be done at night.
This AM, I noticed it running slow, so I rebooted and when it loaded, I
clicked on my User Account and got an hour glass. After nothing happened
for several minutes, I tried left and right clicking and clicking on start,
still only the hour glass. I then manually shut down the computer. This
same thing happened two more time. Only after the third manual reboot did I
get my computer working. I went to the Dell Help and Support Screen and
using the Advanced System Information Error Log and found the last four
errors which are all Application n Hang with different descriptions.
Unfortunately I am not computer literate enough to understand what it all
means. It does list two different business softwares that I use, but two
errors do not list anything I recognise. Do I have Software, or XP problems
or computer probl;ems?

Is the system running ok now? If so then not much you can do unless/until
it starts to repeat.
