Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost.

When I double-click on a chart in a Powerpoint file on my
C drive, I get this error message: "Error accessing file.
Network connection may have been lost."

I click on OK, and then I get this error
message, "Microsoft PowerPoint can't start the application
required to open this object. An error occurred and this
feature is no lnoger functioning roperly. Would you like
to repair the feature now." I have Yes and No options.

If I click on Yes, Microsoft Office setup runs, then I get
the first error message again and then I get another
message indicating that "there isn't encough memory
available to read chart."

I already tried opening the same file on two different
computers and both times with the same results. I have
enough memory and I know Network connection is not an
issue.

Any idea what might be causing this problem?

What kind of chart, Yama? An Excel chart, an MS Graph (regular PPT
chart), or an Organization Chart, or something else?

Which version of PPT? Which version of Windows?

It's an Excel chart.

PPt version is 2002 on a Windows 2000 Pro.

Thanks,
Yama

Ok, in that case, see if this works:

This is a little different than what you're describing, but since it's Excel
(and Office XP), these fixes may well be relevant.
