I am using Windows 2000 sp4 and am getting this error (80242000) when using
windowsupdate. Every update fails installation with the same error. This
error seems to be a problem with validation(every search resulted in people
who use Win XP and are having probs with windows genuine validation) but I
checked into that and only XP op systems require that( however this is a
legit windows 2000 with COA on the side of the machine). I can download the
updates manually and install them ( it even checks my validation before it
lets me download them and seems fine) but not all are avaliable for manual
download so any help would be appreciated.
