When I boot up my XP home edition, I get an error box :

Error 388
A valid dll file was not found

How can I isolate it to find what it's looking for.

I had a fatal crash, and have restored and reinstalled most of the software
I lost; along with newly purchased Adobe Album and Photoshop Elements.

Any clues or suggestions? Thanks for replies.

Hi Bob,

First, you need to isolate what is calling for it, this can help:

How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP [Q310560]

Then we can address the problem itself.
