error 2738 McAfee

Hello all,

I tried to install McAfee internet security 6.0 on a dell computer (OS XP)
with previously Norton installed.

I uninstalled Norton and tried to install McAfee.

It prepared the install shield and then it stopped with the error reading
error 2738.
I checked the site of McAfee and looked into the register to delete the code
they mentionned. It wasn't there.

Can anybody please help me?

Another possibility
Go to http://download.mcafee.com and install SecurityCenter from there.
Next, rerun the MIS install

final is did you run the NAV removal tool?
to be sure you got all NAV out
