Error 1747

Hi,

I have Windows 2000 Pro with IIS installed (fully
updated; system and viral). Everything was working fine
until I did my normal checkdisk, error-check, and defrag
in SAFE MODE. When I rebooted into real-mode I noticed
that my IIS didn't work. I looked in the services
console to see that my "World Wide Web Publishing
Service" didn't start - odd...

I tried to restart it and i got this error message:

Error 1747: The authentication service is unknown.

I reinstalled my IIS (that normally works), but it didn't
fix anything. Any help!?!
