Error 1722

WinXP Sp1, Windows Update turned on

When I try and install or uninstall autodesk Inventor I
get an error 1722.

I had a prblem with the install so uninstalled it, during
uninstall it came up with this error and said uninstall
failed. rebooted. Inventor no longer appeared in the
Add\remove programs, so tried installing it again and got
the 1722 error again.

searched for error 1722 and 1722 in the KB but only
irrelevant hits

In the olden days you could download an update of the msi
by searching for instmsi.exe but these are no updates for
XP.

Last update\installation I remember was for media player.
since then nothing

any ideas anyone?????

Hello!
Error Return value (1722),
your preferred DNS server address on this client may be unreachable.
To correct the problem:

1. Right-click My Network Places and press Properties.

2. Right-click Local Area Connection and press Properties.

3. Press Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and press Properties.

4. In the Preferred DNS server box, type the correct DNS server address
