I have Windows 98 and something has happened to my
PaintShopPro/AnimationShop program. Cannot open either.
So, I went to uninstall in order to reinstall from the CD
(did that once before, no trouble!)
I always keep cookies emptied, defrag regularily,
scandisk, etc, I know how and do all that. My entire
puter is still running like a top, no other probs but this.
But... I cannot uninstall it. When I try to use
install/uninstall to remove Paint Shop Pro, OR when I try
to use the CD to install this is what I get:
ERROR 1711. An error occurred while writing installation
information to disk. Check to make sure enough disk space
is avialable, and click Retry, or Cancel to end the
installation.
Sounds like it thinks I'm trying to add it rather than
remove it! I've got 17 GB of available memory...so that's
not it.
A search on the msn support site just confuses me more -
it seems that Error 1711 can mean a whole lot of things!
I found this by trial and error
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;153480
but then other definitions of Error 1711 said that it
meant something so totally different that I am paralyzed
by fear!!
Everything else with puter is fine. My computer wizard is
on holiday, and I am going to have to try and fix this
myself. Yeeeeooowwww! Can anyone tell me what to do ??
Thanks
