Have had vista for over a year now. had initial problems with windows mail
which were solved by a service update. Had no problems since, until today. I
cannot receive emails for one of my email accounts (the main one!) all the
other accounts are working fine. I have cross checked the account details and
nothing has cnhanged and they all mac=tch so I don't get why this one account
has gone on the blink! The error message I get is:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server:
'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x80004005

Can anyone help please; it's a vital email address as it is linked to a
business i run.

Have you used these instructions? They were written for Outlook
Express but should also work under Windows Mail.

I'm not sure if this is relevant:

Thanks Robert - have just solved the problem. It appears to be a yahoo issue.
Many people have experienced this today. I went onto the yahoo questions
website and found a solution there.
I had to create an archive on my webserver to temporarily store my emails
and this cleared the blip, then when I put the archived emails back into the
server inbox they downloaded fine; very bizzare!
