Erro Message " drivers'fastfat.sys"

The following error message occurs "windows can not start
because the following file is missing or corrupt:

System32\drivers\fastfat.sys

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows
setup using the original set up CD. Select "r" at the
first screen to start repairs"

It then goes into a loop no matter what you chose
including saft mode attempts.

Any remedy?

Simply put, that was the first step of the problem my
computer had...it did the same thing for me, that pretty
much means that your Windows program has crashed. The
only way I fixed it was by inserting the original Windows
start-up disk in my ROM and completely reinstalling
windows, but I messed up and somehow switched my main
drive from C to D, so be careful.
