Running XP on a Dell Laptop with 256 k RAM and a 10 gig
hard drive about 77% full, my mouse pointer has suddenly
begun to drift around the screen.I suspect this indicates
a memory problem, however dont know what to do about it.
I also get a not enough memory message from Quicken when
I try to update my portfolio on line.

I have done a complete virus scan(McAfee) as well as
running defrag.

Any suggestions??

I had the same experience with my Dell notebook. Turned out the
video adapter was defective and Dell replaced it. Contact Dell support
for assistance.

What model is it?

The dell latitude 600 series have an "Floating" mouse
issue, that requires dell to replace the palmrest and
keyboard. push the palmrest on the right hand side of the
plastic, next to the touchpad. If the mouse starts moving
or "floating" you have the problem. contact dell for
service.
