eronious emails

At times when I hit snd/recieve my email sends out emails
or info. It tells me that it it sending yet there is
nothing in my outbox? When it completes there is then
nothing in my sent box. Can anyone help resolve this
issue, and tell me what might be happening.

You're probably sending out a read-receipt, which doesn't show up. If you
don't want to be sending read-receipts, you can turn them off by going to
Tools -> Options -> Email Options... -> Tracking Options...
