erase dvd-rw

Hello, my laptop had a dvd burner. I have had no trouble
burning to dvd-rw. Foor some reason though, i have not
been able to ERASE these discs. I am also unable to just
write over them. Does anyone know what to do?

What DVD burning software are you using?
Whatever software it is should have an option for either formatting or
erasing the disk.

i have been using the software that del bundled with my
laptop. its called sonic record now.i dont know what i'm
doing wrong

i have been using sonic and/or roxio. Actually i just got
a response from a senior tech guy at Dell (finally!)
Apparently this is a very common problem. They built the
drives to be compatible with the media available at the
time and since then, all manner of new media are
available. I think they are going to replace the drives
with new ones this summer.. Thanks for all your help!
