Epson Stylus Storage USB Driver under Disk Drive in Device Manager

My XP Pro SP3 Exp 8 system is consuming max processor...slow. In looking for
a conflict, there is nothing highlighted in Device Manager, but the printer
Epson Sylus RX500 has a USB driver listed under "Disk Drive" as a second
entry. The first is the hard disk drive description. Is the print driver
supposed to be there, or could that be the reason for the slow computer? Do
I need to uninstall the printer, and reinstall to correct this, or is it
supposed to be under Disk Drive?

The printer happens to have Integrated card slots. These slots permit
your to insert several different digital camera memory card "styles"
directly into the printer. It is correctly set up.
