Epson Stylus Photo RX500

I recently purchased a newPC with Vista Home Premium installed (32bit) and
have an Epson Stylus Photo RX500. Whe I first plugged in my printer, it
worked fine. I had an occasion to use same on a laptop with XP installed.
Printer worked fine. Now that I have transferred it back to PC with Vista.
I get a status - error message and it shows each document with a printing
error message. Vista's website says it is compatable. I have tried
uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I downloaded the driver
directly. The printer still works if I plug it into XP or as stand alone.
It will scan with Vista, but just not print. HELP. Any suggestions?

IE GANG---

I don't have any suggestions, sorry. I'm hoping you can help me.
I recently purchased a Dell Inspirion 530 with Vista Home Premium installed.
I presume it is 32-bit, but I can't find where to locate this info on the
computer.
I tried to install my RX500 and it was a no-go. (I inserted the Epson
install disk
and I now think that I shouldn't have. I just hope that I didn't damage
it.) I
have been trying for weeks to locate the driver download, but I have been
going
around in circles! Epson. Dell and Microsoft give info; when I try to
access the downloads, I go here and there and yet get nowhere! Where can I
locate the driver you downloaded?

Thanks a bunch!

You need to get the Vista drivers from the Epson website. I can't give you
a direct link because their site uses cookies, so even if I posted the link,
it wouldn't work on your PC but use www.epson.com and navigate your way
through the Drivers and Support page until you find the panel on the right
which says Vista Compatibility and you will then be able to find the link
for the RX500.

Disconnect the printer from the PC, look in the Control Panel, Add/Remove
and uninstall any Epson printer software that may have been installed for
your printer..... then download the software, install it and don't reconnect
the printer until the software tells you to do so.

I tried all that and it stiill didn't work. I ended up chooswing the RX550
driver instead of the 500 and it works just fine.
