For about a year I have had the above printer connected
to my laptop (Win XP Home) & sharing it sucessfuly over
my LAN with a Win 98SE desktop pc. About 3 weeks ago when
attempting to print to it from the 98 machine I get: Not
enough memory, try closing some applications. I can see
the printer as well as other shared resources on the XP
machine but get the same message now when trying to
access ANY of the shared resources. Replaced EVERYTHING
in 98 machine (except hard drive) installed Win 98 to a
new directory (clean install) & still have same problem.
Only recent changes on XP machine is critical Windows
updates. Have been watching ng's since, hoping to find a
solution. Also I have deleted printer & drivers on both
machines downloaded newest drivers, reinstalled on both
machines...with NO change. The XP machine accesses ALL
shared resources on 98 machine with NO problems.

I discovered the answer...MAP the network drive from the
XP machine cured both the printer as well as the shared
resource problem.
