Epson Stylus c64 - no black ink

B

BookWight

Hi -

I've got an Epson Stylus c64 which I guess has a clogged print head. I've
tried sticking a needle into the black ink cartridge with no change in
print results. What do I try next?

Is it possible to replace the printhead? I've looked on the Epson website
and I can't find a list of places to have the printer serviced in some way.
Do I just give up and buy a new printer?

Tell him as much as you can about the problem and ask for his free Epson
printhead cleaning manual. He will not spam you and is very helpful, he does
not sell anything.
If the printhead cannot be recovered using his methods (which usually work),
the cost of a replacement printhead is likely to be prohibitive.

The C series Epsons are problematic in this regard. Buy a Canon and use
OEM ink.

It ain't worth fixing! Buy an Epson C88 and use only after market carts
after the over priced oem carts run out. You'll save enough in one year
to buy a new house!

Before getting any closer to sharp objects, please email me and ask for
the Epson cleaning manual. Mention you have a C64. There is no charge
for the manual and you will not be spammed.
