Epson scanner returns blank scans

I had the same problem with the blank scan on my Epson Perfection 1670 and nearly tore my hair out trying to resolve it. My last attempt before I binned it and bought a new scanner worked for me. This is what I did. Good Luck.

Downloaded and installed.
Scanner now working again.
