I installed a new Epson Perfection 2480 Photo scanner. It is recognized by
WinXP, and XP indicates that the scanner is ready for use. The scanner is
shown in both Scanners and Cameras, and in Devise Manager.
The Epson SmartPanel will open, to allow use of the scanner, copier, and
other functions, but when any function is selected a message appears asking
that the supported TWAIN driver be installed.
When accessed through the Control Panel, Scanners and Cameras, the scanner
will run, using the XP Wizard. The Epson Scan will not open at all.
I spent about an hour with Epson tech support and they seemed to be at a
loss to solve the problem. My suspicion is some sort of "TWAIN" issue in
XP. HELP !
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
