Two weeks ago I had to do a system restore on my Gateway computer
because I apparently lost some Windows component files. I am in the
process of reinstalling all of my software I lost during the restore
process. I had an Epson RX620 all in one installed and it was working
fine prior to restoring. Now I cannot reinstall my printer. I have
tried to install using both the CD as well as the download from the
Epson website. In both instances I get the same message..."Setup
cannot copy the file" "Setup disk may be damaged". I spoke with Epson
and Gateway support. Neither of them are able to help me. The Epson
rep said it may have to do with they setup.ini file. I have searched
for this file, including hidden files, and cannot locate it. Can
anyone help me resolve this issue? Thanks.

Try getting all the Windows updates first. One might update install
routines.

Setup.ini should be on the CD, if not extracted, or otherwise moved to
the hd. It could have a name like setup.in_ or setup.cab if it needs to
be decompressed.

Here are some MSKB articles on the error message. If a specific
filename is given, add it to the search parameters.
