I've had my epson r200 for two years without any problems but a couple
of weeks ago it started playing up, when I print a file it'll send the
file to the printer and says it's printing but it isn't, after several
times of restarting the pc it will suddenly print the doc.
I've reinstalled drivers 100's of times and it doesn't work, the pc
sees the rpint (ink levels etc)
Can anyone help

How much free space do you have on your c: drive? Delete your browser
caches in Mozilla and IE and all your temp files in
C:\Documents and Settings\Your account name here\Local Settings\Temp

Then defragment the drive. You need a large amount of free, contiguous
space for the print spooler.

Thanks for the message, I have 5.5GB of free space on my c: drive, I've
got an Epson 7600 which I use daily and that never has any problems
with massive files, any other ideas??

Thanks

A long shot maybe but you might have some bad memory in your PC. Free memory
tests are available from the Internet, it is worth trying, use the intensive
test and let it run for several hours.
Also, try replacing the data cable, and if possible try the printer on another
PC?
It sounds PC based to me but there is a possibility that the printer
interface/cable may be the cause.

For me, it sounds like you have checked the printer offline in the
properties menu. This state is selected when after a fault the user clicks
on the pause button (or something like this). This way, the current print
job don't cancel, instead the printer goes in offline state (keeping the
last print jobs into the printer spooler).
Check/change: double click the printer icon --> Printer --> Use printer
offline.

Well, this problem does sound nutty and i'm interested to find out what
it is as well. I've had my r200 for over a year and print on it daily.
So it gets a pretty good work out, and so far no problems.

Since it's been suggested you try cleaning up your HDD space and check
your memory, here are 2 programs that will not only help you do this,
but REALLY help maintain your computer running smooth.

The first program is free, called Everest and can be found here
http://www.lavalys.com Opps! Turns out, they no longer have a free
version! Well, if you can search for it, i'm sure someone still has the
free version or you can get the other versions of the news groups. This
is sort of a testing suit for your PC it gives you ALL of its info,
tests everything and even can recommnd a few things!

The second program is Internet Trace Destructor found here
http://www.steganos.com/?layout=default&content=products_itd&language=en

LoL I guess its found there, but not really. Anyhow, download this from
anywhere you can. Basically, what THIS program does, is clean all the
garbage out of your windows OS. When you "clean up the disk" with
windows software, it leaves a LOT of stuff behind. This program does
what windows claims to, and a lot more! You can configure it like 50
different ways!

So with those 2 programs, you'll be able to check your ram, video card,
cpu etc etc, and keep your system's caches, temp and other folders clear
to be able to fix the problems others have suggested!

Good luck.

I have seen it many times. Some customers asked me why their printers
stopped working. I don't remember the exact button, I pressed it once, me
too!
On the other hand I'm not sure if this is the issue. I don't expect the
printer to stay in offline state even after a driver update, but who
knows...

Me too, I have seen this many times but overlooked it on this occasion. Thanks
for the post.
