Epson R200 and R220 spacific question but has a general element as well.

W7 has only MS provided generic drivers for Epson R200 and R220 printers.
(hint they are worse than useless)

Is there any source of commands I can use to roll my own control of the
printer and more important the ink carts?

I ask as we have a number of R200/R220 that are still working but I can only
access and control using XP OS.

This unfortunately applies to many printers from different manufacturers
under
W7 and Vista. I don't have a solution but hopefully someone else may. As a
point of fact, the printer drivers in W7 and previous OSs were not written
by
MS, they were provided by the printer manufacturer.

According to Epson and MS support they are drafted by MS.

Are you looking for the answer, or telling a joke here?

The R220 is the same as the R230 and the R230 has a Epson
listed Win 7 Driver.

Plus Epson Easy Photo Print 2.4 works with WIN 7

The Russian SSC Service Until works with Win 7 and will monitor ink
levels and clean heads..

I've tried but not been able to get the Russian SSC Service Unit (works with
XP) to work with the preinstalled version of Win7 (this is an Acer lap top)
But I'll give that another try.

Thanks again.

Thanks. Does this apply to the R200 as well?

NO but you only loose the print preview and some part of the Ink
monitor, the ink monitor is still there under the printer setting, or
use the SSC utile.

Search for this I found it under a R2000

Works on a R200/R210 and a R300/R310
Does that work with R220 and hopefully the R200?

??? what are you asking.

Works on mine 32 bit Professional.

But I have a dual boot system, and I have No drivers at all for my
$800nz HP scanner.

And MS want people to move to WIN 7, they are joking..

I have a old 2002 Dyesub Panasonic printer that has a WIN 7 driver
supplied by MS and a MS driver for a old LJ6 HP printer minus the
custom paper size option for envelops.
