When attempting to install an Epson 860 on a clean w2000 sp4 installation with the latest Epson web site driver we get a GPF krnl386.exe error. If using a native driver compatible the no printing occurs. Other printers install and function OK. None of the Epsons will work. I've removed the LPT port and let WIndows reinstall it to no avail. Epson claims it is a MS SP issue.

Did you remove all previous installations correctly? Although written
originally for XP, the procedure is the same:
