You are right about the difference in Epson OEM inks. Being mostly
dye based, except for the pigment inks for C70 to C84, a great deal
will depend on the quality and/or degree of polltuion of local
resources like water. As Epson have their inks made in countries from
Philipines to Mexico... say no more!
Your best bet is to buy Jettec inks for the Epson 1270/1280/1290.
Made in either the USA or the UK there are none better and they work
out 60% cheaper.

JetTec are made entirely in Spalding Lincolnshire UK and that's not the USA.
