Compatible pigment ink for Epson

A

AndrewS

I've been running an Epson C86 on Epson original carts for 20 months,
totted up the cost, and decided it's time to change to compatibles. I
want to stay with pigment, and the make needs to be easily available
in the UK.

I've ruled out JetTec having discovered from them that they are moving
from pigment to dye. I've found Inkrite and Xprint, and very
recently Think+ (though pictures of their carts look remarkably
similar to those advertised with Inkrite & Xprint). Has anyone had
experience with any of these? Apart from the obvious general quality
issues, what about the risk of interaction with residual ink (moving
either from, or to, Epson). Are there any other brands to look at?
Thanks
AndrewS
PS: I have MK killfiled!

There are no brands. The relabelers of generic ink will not tell you
who the mfg/formulator (brand) is so you never know what you are
getting. Many of these small webstores will tell you anything and sell
you who knows what. I know Epson is very expensive but you get what you
pay for. Pigment ink has a higher incidence of clogging than dye does
and I do not even know of a non OEM dye brand.

That said the only two suggestions I think you should into are Lyson and
Pantone but I think you will find these expensive also.
