Epson CX4600

I have the above printer. I am so totally fed up with this piece of
crap. The print heads clog everytime I turn around. If the printer is
not being used at least once a week it cloggs. I run cleaning cycles to
try to unclog but just use up all the ink!!! And still can't print. I
just want to print with black ink but have found that it wont print at
all if the color inks are out. I DON'T want to use color just black. I
am not even sure if I have managed to unclog the black print head (used
some windex on the head to try to remove some of the ink) and because I
am now out of color I can't even try it out. Is there a way to fool the
printer into thinking I replaced the cartridges? I will never buy
another epson. Sure it's print quality is nice but this whole print
head situation is non sense. My HP's have done just as well with out
the frustration.

I know how you feel, I had a C62 that clogged on the 2nd day after
awhile it had to be exchanged and that clogged on 4th day all with
OEM ink.

In the end I got a Canon ip5000 and its sheer bliss after 4 months not
one single clog or manual clean required.

My problems started gradually and just got worse requiring more cleans
and like a idiot I used OEM ink.

The only thing I can suggest is to try a cleaning cartridge, but that
is more expense.

Perhaps you could check the clear waste pipe, sometimes it comes off
the docking bay, if you view the clear PVC pipe then all you need to
do is to do a cleaning cycle and see if the ink is flowing in the
pipe to the waste pad, if you can't then it could be the pipe as come
detatched from the docking bay, this will cause ink build up to dry in
the docking bay and then gets wiped back into the nozzles.
