Epson Cleaning Manual

P

Patrick Carey

I have seen messages in this newsgroup offering to send an Epson Cleaning
Manual on request. My son has an Epson CX6400 which physically acts as if
it's printing, but there is no ink at all on the sheet and no error messages
showing.

The ink levels are showing C:low, M:20, Y:20 & K:80. There is a line in the
manual that says "You cannot print if any ink cartridge is empty" and I'm
assuming that means the printer will not print anything at all if any one of
the cartridges is empty. However, not being that familiar with Epson
printers, I'm not sure that the "low" indication on the printer panel and
the "empty" referred to in the manual are the same thing.

Before we replace one or more ink cartridges, I'd like to try a cleaning
routine to make sure he's not wasting his money trying to make this printer
work.

Can anyone email me a copy of an Epson Cleaning Manual for the CX6400? We
would both appreciate it!

Pat,

Not sure what you mean by an Epson cleaning manual, but Art Entlich
publishes his own Epson cleaning documentation which he will send out in the
form of a PDF if you email him (I don't have his address offhand, but just
find one of his posts).

However, if you just want to do an ordinary head clean, then you should be
able to find the appropriate button within the driver. However, a head
cleaning cycle will *NOT* run if one - or more - of the tanks are low
because it pushes a considerable amount of ink through the heads to clear
any blockages.

Suggest you contact Arthur and obtain the appropriate manual.

Seems to be pressing all your buttons with ease.

Is there any chance that I could get a copy of that PDF too, please

My printouts look positively grubby at the moment, ink buiding on th
rollers, and then smearing all over the page

TIA :
