Ive just bought a second hand Epson 9000 printer and whenever i switch
it on, i get 'paper jam' or 'no paper' messages. Its loaded up with a
canvas roll and nothing is jammed.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with it or how to sort it out?

Cheers

Could it be the sensors? Does anyone know where these are?
It could be. I guess there are optical and/or mechanical sensors for
paper start/end, paper width etc.
I suggest you d/l the manual / trouble-shooting guide and/or look at the
FAQ on Epson USA site first.
I expect that paper error will occur if something on the printer or in
the driver is set wrong.
Does the error occur if you feed cut sheet paper?

I am sure that the person who sold it to you knows about this problem
and that he also knows it cannot be sorted out.

Thats exactly what i think.

I get an error 1000f and according to the manual the solution is fit a
new main board!!! I dont think these are too expensive but the labour
could be!

Had an 8 hour drive to collect a piece of scrap metal, along with
£700!!

It would help to know where you are. Continent? Country? State/region?

Engineers been & quoted £1000 plus labour! New main board, new CR
board blah blah..even then couldnt guarantee it'd work..........so if
anyone wants an Epson Pro 9000 ('96) for spares....email me & make me
offer.....
