envelopes printing in red

I am having the trouble w/ envelopes printing in red. i have changed every
font from automatic to black. do you have any other suggestions? it's weird
b/c if I do an envelope & print and use regular paper it will print in black.
when I use the envelope it prints in red. I have dowloaded the latest drivers
for deskjet 5650. what next/

Some users have reported that some printers use a composite black (using the
color cartridge instead of the black ink cartridge) for envelopes, so red
(or blue) type can indicate that you are running out of one or more colors.
