Turn it on and instantly start tapping (once per second) the following key:
(Try one, if it doesn't work, turn off and try the next one..)
F2
DEL
F1
If none of those three work, when you turn on your machine, start tapping
ESC once per second, it may give you a screen you are not used to seeing
(instead of a screen that says HP or COMPAQ or DELL or whatever)..
If you tell us the name brand - we may be able to be more specific.
After booting, have a look at the bottom of the screen for a message something like 'Press X to enter setup', where X could the Delete key, F1, F2 etc. The manual for your motherboard should tell you how to enter the BIOS.
Normally during boot there is a message similar to "Press ** to enter
setup".
Common keys are F1, F2, Esc, Delete and others.
This is a function of the motherboard and has nothing to do with
Windows.
Check your motherboard/computer manual and/or contact the manufacturer
for details.
The operating system is immaterial. Only you know what
motherboard and BIOS you have, so only you know the answer to your
question. ;-}
