Frequently the following message box appears on the screen:

Enter Network Password
Please type your user name and password
Server 127.0.0.1
Unser Name todddaily1
Password ******
Save this password in your password list
OK Cancel

User Name and Password are already filled in.
If I click Cancel, it goes away. If I click OK it comes right back.
I don't have a network. I have no clue where this comes from.

Windows XP.

The message could be related to a program (antivirus, antispam,
parental control, etc) that looks at information coming from the
Internet before delivering the information to you.

Do you have some type of account named "todddaily1"? That would give
a clue.

I've been watching more closely and noticed that the message only appears
when Outlook is running - which is almost all the time. The icon in the task
bar shows the Outlook icon, so it must be in there somewhere. I'll keep
looking.

Do you have an E-mail address like (e-mail address removed)? If so,
the message is probably related to an antivirus or antispam program
that scans your E-mail before delivering it to your Outlook inbox.
Such programs often change the E-mail account settings to use
127.0.0.1 as the incoming (POP3) mail server address. Check your
Outlook account settings.
