encrypted documents

whenever I create a new document in Word 2007 it automatically creates the
document in an encrypted format. When I go into the properties of the
document, under General>Advanced>Compress or encrypt attributes>
the encrypt contents to secure data is checked marked in the box. If I
uncheck it, then the document is no longer encrypted and the document name
turns from green to black. How do I turn this off permanetly?
Bit locker encryption is turned off. Please help!

Exit Word and rename normal.dotm; a new version with factory default
settings will be created the next time you start Word.

To locate normal.dotm, you can search for it in Windows: press Windows key +
F to display the search window. Be sure to search hidden files and folders.

Thank you for your reply - sorry, but I don't understand how to do this, I
went into windows explorer and did a search of normal.dotm - 4 or 5 files
came up and if I clicked on them it would start a new search of normal.dotm
again. I have no knowledge of what normal.dotm is and how it works or how to
rename it, is there any way to help me to understand this and to fix it?
Thank you for your time
