enabling mouse

How do I enable a mouse for character based app. (Apps in
windows 2000 Command Interpreter) without having to
maximize the window. The mouse is enabled when the
command prompt is maximized, but I want to be able to
enable the mouse when the command prompt is of any size.

Either alter your 'Command Prompt' in the Control panel
for universal control or in the individual shortcut to the
console that is to use this feature. Click off the
QuickEdit Property on the Option tab in the dialog window.
