empty contacts in trash

One of my managers has found a bunch of deleted contacts in his deleted items
folder without actually deleting any of his contacts. It appears that
whenever he deletes an email, Outlook creates 3 or 4 blank contacts and
immediately deletes them, filling the delted items folder with nearly a
hundred blank contacts by the end of yesterday.

this is Outlook 2003 w/o the business contact manager.

Have you tried Detect and Repair? Do you have any add-ins installed? If
yes, try unchecking them one by one until the problem stops.
