Embeding AND Looping - Limitations or can I do this...

Hello Everyone,

I have done my research and have spared this forum from another 'Sound
Doesn't Work' or 'How do I get sound to play continuously through all
slides?' post. However, I'm not so sure I've saved this forum from another
'How do I loop an embedded sound file' post. I've used the search option
provided here as well as Google but I'm unable to find an answer to my
question. Please accept my apology if I have overlooked a post containing my
answer but nonetheless I'm going to ask for some assistance.

I have converted an .mp3 file to a .wav file as instructed at
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm. I have also setup a loop for
my new wav file as shown here: http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00047.htm
[http://skp.mvps.org/mspan.htm -> MusicSpan Utility] . My question is, how
do I make an embedded wav file (not provided by PPT) play/loop throughout the
entire presentation? It seems to me that I can either loop my song or embed
it but not both. I'm hoping and crossing my fingers that I have missed a
post that answers this question.

I thought this whole procedure was going to be easy. Looping a song in PPT
across all slides sounds simple enough but I've run into roadblock after
roadblock. Good heavens this has gotten complicated.

***NOTE***

Unfortunately, the 'one sound only' approach mentioned at
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00047.htm doesn't apply to me.

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to provide your thoughts.
I sincerely appreciate it.

Best regards,

Shawn

Thank you for doing your homework, Shawn. Playing sounds across slides is
probably the most frequently asked question here.

As for looping the sound, I believe you'd have to keep it separate from the
PPT file, as PPT will start the sound over each time the presentation starts
over.

If you just need to keep the song looping throughout one iteration of the
presentation, you might see if setting the "repeat" option (Click the
animation, choose Effect Options, then Timing. Or just choose Timing
directly. Repeat is on that tab.)

Not sure if that will do the trick or not, but I figure it's worth a try.

On the very first slide, click on Slide Show, Slide Transition.
Set the sound to your WAV file and check the box to loop until next sound.

As long as no other WAV files are played in your presentation you now have
an embedded WAV (allowing for size restrictions) that will loop throughout
your presentation.
