eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 Installation Problem

I'm trying to install this on a fully up-to-date Windows XP SP2 system to
develop applications for Windows Mobile 2003 SE but after selecting the
components to install, a box pops up stating....

'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application'

Am I wrong in assuming I run this on Windows XP? If not, why is it failing
to install?

Wrong NG. This NG deals wtih Windows XP Embedded.

Nevertheless, your issue is likely caused by an 'invalid' autoexec.nt, config.nt, and/or command.com.
Try to follow the directions at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767 to resolve the issue.

Ahh I just did a search on 'Embedded'!

The information in the link you provided did the trick so thanks for that
