Embedded Text???

I go to Word help. Certain text in highlighted. I click on it and more text
appears. Handy.

Question: Is there any way I can do the same thing in my Word documents? I'm
a writer. Being able to insert notes and reminders into say a character's
name would make my day a heck of a lot easier.

It's not the same thing, but you can embed comments and notes so
that hovering the mouse automatically shows a note or comment.

There are 3rd party apps can do that but I dont' use any of them.

Word's Help file is HTML, which permits features that are not available in
Word. As PopS says, Comments would probably serve your purpose.
