Embedded excel corruption problem - need solutions!

Using Office 2003. 125 page Word doc with approx 55 embedded excel files.
Sporadic corruption problems. Don't want true Word tables (need calculation
functions). Also don't want links (need to be able to email one file). Is
there a better way to do this?

Probably. I would be using a macro to copy/paste my named ranges in Excel
over to the Word doc. Embedding 55 Excel files is just asking too much, if
you ask me. Perhaps a macro like this will help:
