Does Microsoft or Office 2007 offer a better solution to live
linking/embedding data/charts from Excel into Word?

I have the need to "live link" about 40 excel ranges into a Word document.
In 2003, I tried this using the Copy_Paste Special_Link_Picture Windows
Metafile. When I update the data in Excel (such as hiding or revealing a
column or row), the linked pictures in Word move around on the page and
sometimes don't update.

A couple of years ago, Microsoft told me that this OLE technology cannot
support the number of links into my Word report (After 2 gigs of ram, more
video and printer memory) and offered no solution.

I have since purchased a third party utility program as a solution, but it
also has severe limitations and does not work on Office 2007.

Does Microsoft or Office 2007 offer a better solution to live
linking/embedding data/charts from Excel into Word? The need to live link
tables and charts from Excel to Word just seems so common

Thanks for your help.

Why are you pasting as WMF instead of as MS Office Excel Chart Object?

Hadn't really thought about that. I frequently hide/reveal columns and rows.
Do you think this format would be easier to control....keep pictures from
flying around the page?

Thx
