I"m having the same problem as many thousands,My Outlook
Espress contains at a minimum 30 Alesrts to Emails
filtered, however they still require goinbg thru the
deleting process. My question--I am using DSL
(Roadrunner), if I went back to "Dial-Up" would this help
to elininate these messages. If you are with Microsolft,
may I say this is a bad situation and I don't think
Microsoft is taking it seriously enought. The XP should
be recalled and reissued when all the glitches are
fixed. Ford and GM have to recall, why not Bill Gates?
Tks for listening to a very disgruntled customer.

If you bother to look at the sender of the email (view, options) you will
clearly see they are not from Microsoft. You can:

a) configure your antivirus software to delete (instead of disinfect or
quarantine) emails that contain viruses - usually about three keystrokes
required from you.
b) set up a few rules within Outlook to ensure that emails that appear to
come from MS with attachments are in fact re-routed to the Deleted Items
file immediately.

They are fairly easy to spot, after all.

No, your connection speed make no difference in the number of e-mails you
get. Microsoft has handled this and all other virus'/worms as best they
can. Microsoft is not sending the messages. Before you come in here and
tell Microsoft what they should be doing, you should know what you are
taking about. This has nothing to do with Windows XP for one. You will get
these emails no matter what OS you are using. So you can switch to a Mac,
but you will still get the emails. You are not at risk for many virus' as
long as you run AntiVirus software and update your system. Microsoft has a
whole guide on howto protect your PC. Maybe you should take a look. -

Now, since you obviously have more ideas on how to fix this and what to do
about it, i would love to hear what you would do.

The worm that you speak of uses its own SMTP engine to spread. The FBI has
always been involved in ALL major incidents such as this.

Please responde with your ways to help fight this.

What makes you think that the XP operating system has anything to do with
the spam email you are getting?
