Emails I send to some recipients on my distribution lists are coming out
gibberish/garbled to some readers (e.g., "
</html>

Can I do anything about this?

That's not gibberish. It's how any MIME-aware client formats multipart
messages. Either something between you and your recipients is mangling the
headers somehow or your recipients' clients are misinterpreting the data.

Thanks for the response. Could you tell me if there's anything I can do
about it? Here is some more garbled text, and it may help to figure out what
is wrong:
Thanks for your help!

That's not possible to say without a lot more information on the raw data of
the message.

The problem is occurring prior to that text. It is most likely occurring in
the headers.
