Emails to Contacts in 2000?

For some reason, I don't have email addresses on my contacts, BUT if I
create a new email and start typing the first few letters, I get
options of contacts to add (e.g. "Mi" I can choose "Michael X,
Michelle Y, Midas Auto") with emails, so this emails are in memory
somewhere. Where would they exist in the contact then?

They are in your autocompletion cache, which has nothing to do with your
Contacts data.
