Emails send from wrong account, even when specified

I just realized today that the email I have been sending from seperate
accounts for the past few days have been defaulting to the default account
even when I specify to send from one of the other accounts. Anyone know what
I should do to fix this? I can't have emails coming from a non-business
account when they should be.

Ex:

Select to send from Account 2
Sends via Account 1

Select to send from Account 3
Sends via Account 1

Select to send from Account 4
Sends via Account 1

but if I send a test email from Account 4 to Account 4 it sends with the
correct account.

I have deleted and recreated accounts. I have changed the default account
and all this does is change the Account it is sending from for all messages.
No way I am changing the default each and every time.

What version of Outlook do you have? If you have Outlook 2003 and have
applied service pack 1, there is a bug that causes Outlook to try sending
on other accounts if the server for the selected account rejects all the
recipients.

Your example below is consistent with this, if accounts 2, 3, and 4 are
rejecting recipients for which they aren't responsible (i.e. users at
different ISPs).

The usual fix for this is to enable authentication to the outgoing server
for the accounts on which you're not sending. To do so, go to the
"Outgoing server" tab on the account in question.

I am using Outlook 2003 with SP1.

Then configuring accounts 2, 3, and 4 to authenticate to their outgoing
servers should fix the problem. If it doesn't, post back and we'll try
some other options.

Well that fixed the problems with all but one account. The accounts it fixed
it with are from the same hosting company so the servers are setup the same.
However the other is through a university with wierd security settings. It is
set up to encrypt incoming mail, but that is all that is different as far as
the outlook setup is concerned.

Could you turn on diagnostic logging (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q300479) and post
the OPMLog.log file after trying to send through the university account?

Here is the rest of it, the log was larger than the 3000 limit

Sorry about changing the site/account names, but would just rather they not

The university account is through the mail.cc.wwu.edu account.
Sorry about changing the site/account names, but would just rather they not
be on a public forum.

Understood, and no problem...

Your university server is not advertising the availability of any
authentication mechanisms. That usually means that either you'll need to
use the "log into incoming server before sending" option to authenticate or
talk to your university mail administrators about how to access it from
outside... One thing to try might be to enable SSL (on the "Advanced" tab
of your account) - sometimes plain-text login mechanisms are not advertised
unless you have a connection using SSL encryption.

Cool thanks. I tried the SSL trick and setting it up to login prior to
sending but it didn't help. I will contact our email support but I highly
doubt they will make any changes. They are great about that;)! Thanks though.
