Emails automatically deleting

I had hundreds of saved emails on my computer. One day, when I opened Windows
Mail, my screen went blank for a few seconds and my entire Inbox was deleted.
Now, ANY email that is opened will be deleted when I close the program.
Only does this on my laptop. I can check emails from another computer, and
they won't delete themselves. Dell 1705 with Vista and Norton. Would really
like to recover the lost emails as well as fix the problem.

Go to the view menu>current view>ensure that 'show all messages' is
selected.

If the Inbox folder is still there but looks empty, click on it, then View,
then
Current View, then Show All Messages.
