Emailing pictures

Just got my new sistem with xp-media center edition.
When I go to "My Pictures" and want to email a picture, it automatically
opens Outlook (my email program) WITHOUT asking me first if I want to "Make
my opicture smaller" like my other XP based system used to do.
Does anybody have a solution to this, because it is really frustrating.
